Laugh and Live More!

( click on image to enlarge it )

Today I decided I would get down and get dirty! I chose 2 pieces of A4 card and put blobs of acrylic colours on it and smeared it all with a (credit type) plastic card, first going one way, then the other.I always seem to end up with alot of the paint on my hands, although today I excelled myself and got some of it on my jumper! After leaving the card to dry for 3o minutes or so I then cut the card in to Atc size pieces, which I then stamped. Unfortunately this stamp isn't quite long enough for the Atc, so I had to add a torn strip of paper to the bottom edge. To finish off I added a flower. I thoroughly enjoy using this technique and although I am nowhere near as good as some crafters, I'm having fun as I learn, all a case of trial and error!

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I really appreciate it.

Mini Christmas Cards

( sorry for the poor image/click on image to enlarge it)

I've had a great day in my craft room.......spent most of it sorting through all my christmas stash. I never realised just how much I had ! I've not even attempted to get all my christmas stamps out, well, thats because I had no space to put them. It's certainly got to the point where I have so much I don't know where to look when I need something in particular. I've decided to thin out some bits of card and backing papers, toppers, stickers etc, I thought I could make up a few "Bitty Bags" for my grandson to take to school to sell for their "Christmas Fayre"

On to my Mini Christmas Cards.......I found these 4x4" blanks by Anitas while I was out yesterday, so bought 2 packs. I managed to make up 3 cards (before my sort out) I enjoyed making these as they are small and so easy to make up, especially as I used die cut toppers! The topper with the Mouse on the Christmas present is from a stamp (Penny Black) I have, it's so cute.

Hope to be back again soon to post some more creations,

Novembers Calendar Page

Well, I've got a quiet home now, my grandson Lewis has returned home to his mum after spending the week with me. I still have a few bits left in my food cupboard, boy can a 15yr old put the food away, I'd forgotten how much teenage boys can eat, lol. Not that I mind because I've enjoyed him being here, he really is lovely company to have around. After Lewis left I set to and made up my calendar page for November, a stamped winter image which I coloured in with Whisper pens. The tips of the trees and the snow flakes I glittered up but it dosen't really show in the photo, the rest is all stuff from my stash. Only December to make up later this month and the calendar is full, it's actually bursting at the seams at the moment. My sister Rosie (the one who adopted me) has already bought me a blank calendar for 2010!

As you can see I have changed my blog background, hope you all like it, I did try several designs yesterday before finally settling on this one late last night.

Thank-you for calling in today, I appreciate your time and any comments you leave.

A Recipe Atc!

Yeah!!!!!! I've entered a blog challenge today, just hope my entry is not too late! It's over on http://lotstodocallenges.blogspot.com/ The challenge is a "Recipe"...use 3 ingredients......Stamping, Paint, Metal. I must say this is the first time I have used acrylic paints in any of my work. First I stamped 2 images, the clock, then the alphabet. Then I put blobs of yellow and blue paint on my atc, then swiped it with a plastic (credit type) card, a fine mess I made too, so I had to make another atc and this is the result, lol All the ingredients are there, so here's hoping!

Thanks for calling by today, hopefully I will now be entering more challenges from now on, I've really missed doing them over the last couple of months.

More Atcs

(click on image for finer detail)

Hello Everyone.........again it has been a while since I last posted, the time seems to be flying by at an astonishing rate. Weatherwise, it's been fabulous, I went shopping just in a T-shirt and jeans today because it's so warm. The colours of the trees and hedges are stunning, who wants to stay indoors when there is so much to enjoy outdoors, plenty of time to stay in when it gets really cold!
I've been visiting and staying with my dad since he was last in hospital, it seems he is having "anxiety" attacks and because he suffers with C.O.P.D. the attacks makes his breathing worse. I have had to make his carers aware of the difference between dad being ill ie.chest infection etc and an anxiety attack so they don't keep sending him in to hospital. His doctor told me my dad is more at risk keep going in to hospital, because of his health he is highly vulnerable in picking up an infection. The doctor has also prescribed some medication that dad can take when he feels an attack is starting. Today he is looking so well and I feel good about that, he will be 82 in February!
So on to my Atcs, these are 4 from a set of 9 that I made for a forum swap. I'm hosting the swap so I got to choose the theme, which is "3 Colours" I chose to make my set all the same except that each one has a different 3rd colour. An added bonus for me next month as my dear friend Liz has asked me to host her swap as she is too busy, her theme is "Boy's Toys". So looking forward to hosting that swap, love the theme too.
Thank-you all so much for dropping by......I really do appreciate your visits.
Love to all

The Last One

Well, here is the last one of the 5 atcs. Unfortunately this one isn't very clear, it's so cute though, I love this image.
My night out last night was brilliant, I laughed so much my face is aching today, good fun though with good company.
So now back to crafting, I've got a Halloween Tag to make now for another swap, hope to get that done soon and posted on here
My dad is still in hospital, his breathing is quite bad and makes him very anxious, so he will stay in hospital for another day or so, other than that he is ok.
Bye for now

Another Two!

Hello Everyone, what a day......spent most of it at the hospital with my dad! Poor thing had a really bad attack early this morning and was struggling to breathe, so the early morning carer rang for an ambulance. Because dad didn't respond to receiving the oxygen, the paramedics had no choice but to take him to A&E. Anyway, he is ok, thank goodness, no sign of a chest infection, which was my main worry. His blood pressure is a bit low and until the doctor is happy with him,dad will have to stay in hospital.
On to my atcs, these are another 2 that I made from the 5 for a swap, will post the last one tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good weekend......I'm off for a shower now and then get ready to go out, whoo hoo!

Tag Atcs

Wow.....I've just realised it's been 2wks since I last posted here. I couldn't tell you where the time has gone! I've had a good day today, my eldest grandson and I went clothes shopping. I managed to buy a lovely new pair of boots and a fabulously glitzy top that I'm going to wear out tomorrow night. My grandson bought himself a new jacket and some undies, all in all we had a lovely day together.

On to my Atcs, I've cheated a bit actually, I have used pre cut mini Tags for these two. I've made 5 for a swap,so will show you the rest tomorrow.

Cheerio for now

October's Calendar Page

Where does the time go......already in to October! I almost forgot to design my calendar page, it wasn't until my adopted sister Rosie told me last night that we are now in October. I hope you like this page. I decided on doing a decoupage image and this one is one of my favourites. I love owls. If you look closely you will see that I have very lightly snipped around some of the feathers in an attempt to make them look a bit more realistic.
Thank-you for calling by today, all your comments are very much appreciated.
Hope to be back again soon.

Elegant Atc

Hello Everyone.......it's been a while and despite me saying I would be back on a regular basis, I just could not settle back in to crafting. I really had to make a concentrated effort to get some atc's made for a swap. I took the easy option too and made all five the same.lol
I don't want to give up my crafting, but some days I struggle to get the basics at home done, yet some days I sail through the day. Tomorrow I have promised to wash my dad's net curtains and clean the inside of his windows, his carers/cleaner is very good, but they only do the basics. After that the rest of the week is my own and I will soon need to make some christmas cards! I also have two atc swaps and a Tag swap to do during October.
The nights are now drawing in, I'm still wondering if summer ever arrived, its a bit chilly here and it's only 4:35pm, very quiet too as I can't hear the birds in the trees.
I hope you are all well and I would like to thank all of you that have been leaving me such lovely comments when I've not been around.
Hugs to all of you,
Sandie xx
