My "Inchie" Box

Good Morning Everyone,
Today is the day our challenge blog went LIVE..here are the deets...http://ditzy-craftymesschallengeblog.blogspot.com/
I'm part of the wonderful design team and as the first challenge is "Anything Goes" I decided to make something different from actual papercraft....an Inchie Box,somewhere to store those tiny works of art.
First I painted the box in acrylic paint,while that was set aside to dry ,I then coloured the precut inchies and frame with distress inks.Using black stazon ink I stamped a selection of images. Finally I added a piece of ribbon around the base of the box.

A Floral Atc.

The challenge over at the Ditzy-Craftymess Group was to stamp a flower using Stazon Ink,then using watercolour pencils,acrylic paints etc (definately no pro markers) we were to colour the flower and then mount on a card,atc,fat page etc.....So here is my entry for that challenge,which I won!!! The stamp is from Elusive Images,which I'd completely forgot I had,lol. The flower is an Anenome (have I spelt that right?..lol) I decided to shade it using 3 shades of purple/mauves,finally using a damp paint brush I blended the colours very carefully.Thoroughly enjoyed this challenge....click on the pic to enlarge it....

Loving Words

I was sorting through my picture albums on my pc tonight and found many pieces of work that I've not added to my blog. Quite a few of them I had made for the daily challenge over at Ditzy-Craftymess Group on Facebook/Challenge blog (link is in my side bar)
I love this stamp of the romantic couple,to my shame I can't remember who it is made by.The verse is so romantic....it's from a sheet of verse stamps from Inkyliscious.

Bottle Tops?

Bottletops....this was the theme for the last atc swap over on Ditzy-Craftymess Blog (link in my sidebar) I've never used bottle tops before and I wasn't quite sure how I was going to use them. I eventually decided to a use a matching piece of card as the background inside the bottle top,then I added the flower with a little brad for the centre. I wasn't that pleased with the look,so I thought I'd experiment with some glossy accents and filled the bottle tops with it. Left them to dry over night and was really pleased when I saw how nice they looked the next morning. I used hot glue to attach the tops to the atcs, they are quite bulky,so I didn't want them dropping off and damaging the atcs.

The "Oldies"

This was a set of stamps that I really just had to buy. The atc I made for Shendys Daily Challenge on the Ditzy-Craftymess group on Facebook. The theme of the day was woven paper....I did weave my paper, torn strips usuing my ruler. Then I swiped gesso over it,finally smudging some ink in to the atc.The image I stamped on thin card,shaded it slightly before adding it to the atc. It wasn't until after I finished I thought the woven paper looked more like mosaic tiles with grout around them,lol.
Anyway I didn't win the challenge...there was in fact 3 winners who had amazing entries,so they are worthy winners.
I apologise if I've not left any comments on your blog.....Blogger seems to be having a hissing fit as every time I leave a comment,it completely disappears!

Saucy Lady!

I had fun making this Oriental Atc... for.the daily challenge over at Ditzy -Craftymess, we had to make something so long as we did some teabag folding. I've not done teabag folding for ages,mind you it's very much like riding a bike,you don't forget,the folds are imprinted in the brain,lol.
Everything came from my stash,including the picture of this rather saucey lady,lol.

Here,as promised,although a little late, is the 2nd "Faces" Atc. I've had this particular stamp for absolutely ages, it's no wonder the rubber hasn't perished!
I've attracted a lot of attention with my other atc, (previous post) that I think I shall be making a set of them as a Limited Edition!

Faces......

I'm running an Atc swap over at Ditzy-Craftymess over on Facebook. The theme I chose for 1st Dec-1st Jan was "Faces"....it was only when I was sorting through my stuff on my pin board I realised I hadn't posted my Faces atcs on the forum or here on my blog. So here is the first one,my favourite to be honest,bit reluctant to part with it,lol. The stamp is by Inkylicious and I love it.(just the face,not the flowers,they are cut from backing paper which I have shaded in)
The 2nd atc I will post tomorrow for you all to see....

A Face on an Inchie....

I've just quickly popped in to post this Inchie....my dinner is on the go,so I shall have to make it quick,lol.
The challenge set last night over at Ditzy-Craftymess, was to make an Inchie with a Face on it. Well I thought it would be rude not to take up the challenge as I love making Inchies. I used a pre-cut inchie with it's own frame and cute little heart (made by Tanda). I used distress ink for the frame,the heart and the actual inchie, then I stamped this lovely vintage image of a lady's face. Finally I used one of my old tapestry stamps to decorate the frame....I was chuffed with the way it turned out to be honest,as when I started it I thought I'd messed up the colours,as it turned out they've worked well together.....

Gibson Girl

Good Morning Every......a big difference in todays weather thank goodness,I think most of the country got hit by the storms on monday night. I thought I would make good use of my time as I wouldn't go out in the bad weather yesterday,so made a start on the daily challenge in the Ditzy Craftymess forum. The challenge was to use a favourite stamp....my problem is I have many favourites. I spent so much time going through my stamps,then ended up reorganising some,also took some off the wooden blocks. I eventually ended up making an atc with this Gibson Girl stamp.....I've had this stamp for yonks,I think it's one of the first vintage stamps I ever bought!

Torn Paper

Yay.....I'm off to a good start,it's only the 2nd January and I've already posted my first atc in 2012!
This is my entry to the quickie challenge over on the Ditzy-Craftymess Group on Facebook. Shendy sets the group a challenge every day from midday until 9pm the same day.The challenge for today is to use "Torn Paper"....this gave me a good excuse to use a new stamp that I bought just before christmas.The images are actually one stamp,the size of an atc, I just tore it in half to suit this challenge.The backing papers are from a pad that one of my grandsons bought me for christmas,I was chuffed when I opened them up as the papers are quick thick, just gorgeous in fact.The pad is by Melissa Francis,called 5th Avenue. The stamp is made by Inkylicious and is currently in stock on their website.

Time

Well, here we are at the start of another year.The last one just flew by!
This is the last atc I made in 2011....aptly named "Time"
How many resolutions have you made and intend keeping,I've not made any,however,I do intend to craft more when time allows and visit more of my blogging friends.

Cheeky Girl!

This atc is a little bit cheeky. This was my Dragonfly themed entry for the challenge on over at the Ditzy-Craftymess Group on Facebook. Another one of my favourite stamps,lol....thinking about it,all my stamps are favourites,lol.
For the back ground I used distress inks,Peeled Paint and Mustard Seed...which has photographed perfectly,love these colours.The dragonfly and plant pot were stamped separately in a different colour to give a bit of contrast,finally adding a little bit of blue glitter glue for the dragonfly's tail and the plant pot.
This will be my last posting for the next few days as I'm off to stay with my daughter and her family as from Christmas morning.....I'm so looking forward to my time with them.
I wish all my friends, bloggers and followers too, a Very Happy Christmas and New Year.....see you all again very soon...

In the Red

Just a flying visit tonight to post this Atc.I made it for the Quickie Challenge for the Ditzy-Craftymess Group over on Facebook. The theme was to make anything,but it must include a Butterfly. The background was made by using distress ink and then I stamped the image. I then re-stamped the butterfly on a piece of card that I'd coloured green,again using distress inks.Finally I made a couple of green antennae to complete the butterfly.

I did mean to post these atcs yesterday evening,but as I was going out for the evening I actually ran out of time.
Apologies for the bluey tinge....I didn't use the flash feature on my camera......winter lightening plays havoc with photos!
These cute little images are from the Vintage Christmas CD by Joanna Sheene...the little group seemed to be perfect for the foreground on the first atc, unfortunately the same can't be said for the second atc as I think the little girl is a tad too big.

With a Flower....

An Atc with a Flower..... that was the challenge set by Shendy over at the Ditzy-Craftymess Group on Facebook. As I love making atcs,it would have been rather rude of me not to join in with this challenge. I think I have only ever used this particular stamp once before, it's by Artistic Outpost, so thought I'd give it an airing. I've yet to make up my mind whether this lady is sad, in thought or just downright grumpy!
I went with blueish shades and used chalk to shade the dress to pick up the green in the centre of the flower.
Hope to be back again soon,I've had a couple of days out this last week and it's surprising how it throws everything else out of sync.

It's got to have.....

A nightly challenge over on the Ditzy-Craftymess Group on Facebook was set by Shendy. Make anything,but use red ribbon and a button. So I set to and made an atc (no surprise there,lol) The stamp is a new one from Paperartsy (I love their stamps) Backing paper if from my stash and I ran a red ink pad along the edge.The ribbon,button and flower are also from my stash. Considering I made it in a hurry,it turned out better than I thought it would,lol.

Buttons Atc

It's been a cold day here in Devon today,even though the sun did manage to shine for several hours.
I've popped in to post this Buttons Atc that I made last night...it was made for a nightly challenge and the theme was, you guessed it....Buttons. So I rooted out my paperartsy stamps,a couple of old buttons, a scrap of backing paper and a little bit of lace.
Sadly I didn't win the challenge,but it was fun taking part.

Something Different

I was offered a chance to take part in an "Altered Shoe Challenge" over at the Ditzy-Craftymess Group on Facebook. Completely new territory for me....so I decided to accept the challenge.
First I had to go and get a pair of relatively decent shoes from a charity shop,well I wasn't going to use mine,lol. I found a size 4 in a brown suede,cost me £4,but the money went to a good cause,so I'm not complaining.
I rummaged through my stash today and found some lace that would match the shoe, also adding some copper braid,again from my stash.Next I added a dark brown feather to the front of the shoe and a large ribbon bow on the back.I also added some light gold organza material to the inside of the shoe
Finally adding the flowers,they are cream,with a pale yellow rose bud (photo dosen't really show the colour) inserted through the centre.
I'm quite pleased with my first attempt,lots of room for improvement and the good thing is I have the other shoe to alter at a later date.....I also learnt that me and hot glue are not very good friends,lol

My First Bookmark

I thought I would share my first bookmark with you. It's not something I would usually make,but I decided it was a nice size to work with....I much prefer working with smaller pieces.This one is for a swap that I've joined over at the Ditzy-Craftymess Group over on Facebook.....there's quite a lot going on over there.
The verse stamp is a new one,from a set by Inkylicious....this one is my favourite and seemed to suit my mood at the time.
I hope you like the seasonal background on my blog, I've kept a vintage feel to it with out going over the top.

A Challenge Card

Well,this is a rarity for me.....I've not made a christmas card for ages as there are some nice ready made ones around.....This one I have made for the Ditzy-Craftymess Group over on Facebook. I so love this stamp and I should really use it more often than I do. Not the best photo,although the card is actually white and blue,because of the lighting today,everything on it looks pale blue,lol.
Right off to make some atcs now,well after a quick snack....I shall be back,lol...

I managed to find a bit of time to make up an atc to post today....really, it's been one of those days,just when I thought it was ok to lounge around in my dressing gown this morning (well it is sunday) I ended up getting visitors!

Fortunately it was family,but even so I felt I should have been dressed at that time of the day,lol.

For this atc ,I've used another of my Artistic Outpost stamps,I do love their stamps and I actually have quite a few now,some I've not even used yet!

I've just joined a new challenge blog (the link is in my side bar) The blog http://ditzy-craftymesschallengeblog.blogspot.com/ is owned by Judie & Kim and they have chosen me to be on their design team.I'm really quite excited (dosen't take much at my age,lol) about the new blog as there will be all sorts of challenges there. There are tutorials and links to Freebies sites,so much to see and new stuff is being added all the time.

There is also a Facebook Group with the same name and I am actually running an Atc swap on there...so if you fancy joining the swap and you are on facebook, come in and sign up to be a member.

Life is Good

I've been meaning to use this stamp for ages,I think this girls face is gorgeous. I have used lightly printed backing paper on the Atc,smudged over that with distress ink.Then I stamped the image,adding a torn strip of floral paper and some organza ribbon. To finish the atc off I finally added the flower,which I coloured using the same distress ink as I used on the atc, adding a vintage style brad for the center of the flower.
I've been pretty busy these last few days,so I'm sorry to say my blog is again feeling the effects of that.

Pretty as a Rose.

At last I've finally got around to making a post...Yay!
I made this atc this morning and managed to get a good photo while the sun is out and made the room brighter than it has been lately. I've had this image stored in my photo library for absolutely ages, so I thought it was about time I used it. The image is a freebie from Valarie Brincheck over at http://thesumofallcrafts.blogspot.com/.....she has some gorgeous free images.
The gorgeous lady on my atc was originally sporting a wide brimmed hat,but I replaced it with these lovely vintage roses.
I'm hoping to get a set of Christmas atcs on the go,but I'm not in a "Christmassy" mood yet,it seems to have come around so quickly again.

That Hat!

It's a bit chilly here today, not that I mind that as I love the cooler weather. The only drag for me is the lack of daylight hours.
I've posted another vintage atc, just love this lady with her enormous hat, did they really wear them that big? Maybe the lady has stuffed the top of the hat as I'm sure her head wouldn't fill it,lol.

( For those of you that know my father is ill, he has had another fall. His legs can no longer support his body weight, so the community matron is arranging for an electric bed to be delivered.The first carer and the last carer of the day has to get dad up/into bed, by doing that dad can remain living at home.)

I'm posting this quite late as I won't get much time tomorrow.My dad isn't too good so I've been backwards and forwards to him all day today and will be again tomorrow.
Another vintage image,hope you aren't getting tired of them,lol. The background is backing paper from my stash,a lovely mottled purple (my 18yr old grandsons favourite colour,lol)
I've added some glitter to the flowers in her hair and in the neckband of her dress.

For my tag,I used the card and ribbons from my stash, the sentiment was too big for the tag, so I had to cut the words out, then glue them in place.

A Pretty Face

Yes,you've guessed it, I've been back in to my box of vintage pictures again.I pulled this very pretty lady out and decided to make an atc with her.This gorgeous lady is from a freebie sheet of images by the lovely June at http://dezinaworld.blogspot.com/ The birdcage image is a stamp by Crafty Individuals. The flowered paper is from my stash.The sentiment is from a set from Artistic Outpost.
Hopefully the next time I go in to my craft room,I'll make what I had planned and not drift off and do something completely different,lol.

Gothic or Halloween?

I wasn't quite sure of a title for this atc, it looks more Gothic than Halloween.,lol. I hadn't intended to make an atc like this but I came across the image of this lady that my friend had stamped for me last year, while I was looking for something else....so I decided to use it. Unfortunately I had to cut the lady in half for this atc. There are still a couple more images of her left though,so I may use her again very soon.
Off to find myself some lunch now...went to see my dad this morning and got soaked in the heavy rain,it's so dark too and it's only 1pm....

Vintage Beauty

Another Atc that I've made from my vintage stash. I'm enjoying using these images.For the atc I've tried to make the background look aged by lightly stamping a door and shading in the edges in distress inks.I think it's worked quite well as I've used mount board and by rubbing it managed to give it a sort of textured/shabby look.
Off to do some more crafting now,lol.

A Scholar...not!

Another Atc made from an image from my treasure box,I do love Vintage and it's where I feel most relaxed. For this atc,I used the boy and also a stack of books image,for the stamp I used one of my stamps on creamy paper and smudged that with distress ink.
I added some words,taken from an old book and finally distressed the edges to make the atc look a bit tatty.
Got a few more to post in the next couple of days,also some more that need putting together,lol.

She's Thinking

I was going through some of my stash yesterday and came across a box of vintage images,goodness knows how long I have had them,lol. This little girl is so adorable,to me she looks deep in thought.I just had to use her to make an atc. The background is a stamp from Elusive Images (Paris Set),the wording is from Artistic Outpost. I added a blue flower to the girls hair as a bow looked too bulky.

Nothing Fancy

For those that know me,you will know that my dad is very ill. He only has a small amount of personal mail each week,so by sending him a card or two gives him something to look forward to and something else to look at.
I've recently bought some new stamps, a few that I knew my dad would like. The stamps I've used for this card are from Darkroom Door,the London Set. The inset is part of the stamped imaged of Piccadily Circus, I added an inner piece to the card and also stamped the london black taxi on it,unfortunately I forgot to photograph that,lol. I decided to keep this card in monochrome,seemed more eye catching.
The good news is, my dad received the card today and was thrilled with it.

I've just popped on quickly to post this Atc. I rather like the quote,which is from the Typography Set by Artistic Outpost. The floral image is from one of my old stamps. For the back ground colour I've used my distress inks.

My sister Rosie came to see me last week and gave me some scallop shells she found on the beach. She challenged me to do something with them, saying "I'm sure you will have some ideas sis" She couldn't have been further from the truth,as at the time I had no idea what to do with them.

This morning I went in my craft room and saw the shells on my work bench and thought a challenge is a challenge, I'll have a go. Out came my pearl blue acrylic paint,which I used to paint both sides of the shells.Once dry I glued a feather inside the top shell and some stringy mesh and a few small shells inside the bottom shell.

While I waited for the glue to dry,I mounted a image (Crafty Individuals) on to blue card and made a tab on the back which I glued to the bottom shell.To finish I added the image of the lady,again making a tab so she would stay up.

I've just emailed the photo to Rosie and she loves it,so I'll probably pass this piece on to her the next time I see her.

Sorry the photo isn't great, I forgot all about getting batteries for my camera,so had to take the shot quick with the power I had left, lol.

It's been a few days since I last posted,so I thought I'd pop on quickly and post these 2 atcs.They are for a private swap,only the 3 of us in the swap,but we have been swapping for a while now.
As you can see,I've used my new circus stamp again and the stamp of the 2 girls (which I renamed Sandra & Rosie)....Talking of Rosie,she spent the day with me yesterday and we both spent the day on the internet looking at stamps...needless to say we ended up ordering some, you know what I mean when I say "we just had to have them" lol.
Thanks to all of you that drop by,I have less commitments now (craft wise / forum wise) so hopefully will get my blog up to speed.

The title says it all,lol. Couldn't resist making an atc with this lovely lady.Just about everything was from my stash,the suspender I actually got from a box of sewing bits in a charity shop, I did wash it before use and added the piece of ribbon .I've only used the one stamp this time,one from a set of Paris stamps by Elusive Images.Overall a little bit cheeky,but rather fun I think,lol.

The stamp I've used here is just gorgeous,so much detail, love those parasols and tables out on the pavement. The stamp is one out of "London" ( vol 2) by Darkroom Door. For colour I used distress inks for the background and then highlighted the pillars and parasols with watercolour pencils,just gentle shading. This is my first atc using this stamp and I can see there is room for improvement I think!

I've had a lovely time in my craft room this afternoon,spent a lot of time playing with my distress ink pads.I love how versatile they are,you can apply as much or as little as you want, blend colours in so smoothly,I asked myself how ever did I manage so long without them!
As you can see on this atc the different colours work well with this fab stamp from Artistic Outpost.For the foliage on the tree I used scrunched up bits of cotton wool and gently dabbed them on to the ink pad,then very loosely applied the colour to the tree.The sentiment is from a different set of stamps, also from Artistic outpost.
I've got a busy week ahead,not only caring for my dad,but I need to see the doctor myself,but I will be back to post some more of my work soon.

This is an Atc that I made as part of the design team over on the Atc Challenge Blog (link in my side bar) These stamps from Artistic Outpost are gorgeous.The theme we had to work with was "What are little boys made of" Although I have got some boy stamps,I just had to use these as they are new,lol.

Here is the caption I wrote under my atc on the challenge blog......

"Most boys I knew when I was growing up loved the circus,dreaming of becoming a Ring Master or Lion Tamer....one or two favoured becoming a clown. Some actually achieved this with out ever joining a circus,lol.

We are supposed to put a description of materials used,but I just couldn't resist writing this, I don't think any one has noticed yet,lol

I've had a lot going on recently,so time is very much on the short side me for a while.

Just wanted to post my Twinchie, its for the Craftymess Forum Challenge.The theme was "Anything Goes" so it didn't tax my brain too much. This twinchie I made using mountboard,for the background I used distress inks.The stamp is from Paperbag Studios,such a sweet stamp.I loosely dabbed distress ink to colour her coat,then used a whispers fine nib pen to shade the lips.Finally adding a red velvet brad. After I finished I noticed the colours I used were typical of the autumn season,although I didn't set out for it to be that way,lol.

Crikey,it's been ages since I was last on...where did that time go?
I've popped on tonight to post this Skinny I made earlier....it's for my challenge on the Craftymess Forum. Summer seems to have left us now, the nights are already drawing in,the air temperature in the evenings is cooler,but best of all the colours of Autumn are beginning to show on trees and shrubs....so many magnificent colours. I thought this would make a great theme for my challenge.

A Green and Orange Twinchie

I made a Twinchie for a challenge on the Craftymess forum (link is in my side bar) The theme is Green and Orange. So I used my distress inks for the background and then stamped this fabulous Hot Air Balloon image in distress "Evergreen" finally adding the date in the same ink.

Cheeky Lady

I fear I am rapidly becoming a stamp-a-holic.....I really must get a grip, I've had a lot of new stamps over the last few weeks!
For this atc I used one stamp of my new set called "Keeper"by Artistic Outpost.....I so love this fishing lady stamp,quite cheeky isn't she,lol.
For the back ground, I used some light weight card that I previously spritzed with inks, I then smudged in some blue,green and yellow inks.Stamped the image and added the sentiment.To lift the image.I used a cotton bud and some chalks to shade in the lady's clothes..Finally mounting the finished item on to a blank atc
.Needless to say I'm pleased with the result.

For My Dad

I made this card for my dad today.He is very poorly and is completely house bound.I very often make and send him cards,even though I ring him twice a day and visit 3 times a week,it is nice for him to receive mail.

These are a new set of stamps that I bought just a couple of days ago,they are just fabulous.Not overly expensive either as there are several stamps (unmounted) on the sheet.

For the background I used distress inks,the same colours but on 2 different shades of card, I like the effect it gave.

I think I shall be using these stamps a lot,lol.

"Wings" Atc

Hope everyone is having a good day, I'm sat eating a snack for lunch and thought I would post this Atc. I made this one (as one of the design team) for the Atc Challenge Blog (link is in my side bar) The theme this fortnight is "Wings", but there is an "Anything Goes" theme too if you are not up to the "Wings" challenge. I was pleased with the theme as I was able to use this fab little stamp, I think I've only used it once before ,lol. I found this old moth in my stash (no it didn't come out of my purse!) which I used to overlay the original stamped image.By using black craft wire I was able to add 2 antennae to complete the moth.
So, if you fancy a challenge of a theme,or not, pop along and join in with the challenge.Judie is offering up a fab prize too,wouldn't mind it myself actually,lol.

Fashion & Style Skinny

Well the weather's not looking too good, looks like the sky is about ready to open up and pour with rain.It won't bother me much though as I'm not planning to go anywhere.
I thought I would post this "Skinny" The lovely images are from a Joanna Sheen cd. I printed a lot of images quiet some time ago and I came across them on yet another tidy up of my craft room. They are quite large so fitted the skinny perfectly.I think the style of the clothing is quite elegant, I'm glad that isn't the style of clothing now though,I have never looked good in a hat and I've not got the figure to wear anything belted around my waist,lol.

I thought I would post this sweet little atc I made especially for my sister Rosie. Rosie is just such a wonderful sister and best friend. She actually adopted me when I was very small,she lived 2 doors away, we grew up together and our families are very close.Her mother and my mother were best friends for many years and now Rosie's mum is my mum, as I lost mine over 22 yrs ago.
This lovely little girlie stamp reminds me of how close Rosie and I are, the stamp is from Paperbag Studios,called Lily and Zoe......I've renamed mine,Rosie and Sandra,lol. The lovely verse is from a "Time Set" by Creative Expressions.

Plain & Simple

Here is a card that I've made for my dad...it's a rather cheeky one ( I mentioned it in an earlier post I think) and one that I was looking forward to using.I was tickled pink when the stamp arrived as on the website I hadn't notice where the fisherman was sitting...on the toilet,lol! (click in image to enlarge it)
As there is such detail in this stamp I decided to make a monochrome card as this is my first time using it,also my dad's eye sight is poor,so hopefully being plain black and white he'll be able to see the image better.

Summertime!

I so love this new stamp of mine, it's by Impression Obsession....I came across it by chance and "just had to have it",lol. In all fairness the stamp is a little bigger than an atc, but it was the ideal stamp for a summertime theme.....sunny gardens and lots of flowers.I stamped the gate and watering again on some card so I could lift the image a bit .Also highlighted a few places with my pens.The background colour was created using Distress inks
I have another stamp, which I bought the same time as this one, I shall use that one sometime this week, be sure to call back to see what I have made,the stamp is sure to make you chuckle, it did me,lol.

One of my favourite Atcs

At last and just before dinner,I've finally found time to come on to my blog. It's just been one of those days where the minute I think I have got time to myself, something cropped up!
I made the above atc last night and I think it is going to rate as one of my favourite pieces of work.
I used distress inks for the background, then added the script (Tim Holtz) and the string mesh (my stash). I dabbed the mesh and little areas of the atc with a clear ink pad,sprinkled with detailed gold embossing powder, as I heated it,I could see one or two areas that I missed,so repeated the process again.
The floral image (from Elusive Images) I stamped and heat embossed with the gold powder on to black card, which I then cut out and added to the atc.

Window and Doors

Window and Doors is the theme for the challenge over at Craftymess. The theme was my choice for this 2wkly challenge. The stamp I used is by Artistic Outpost.....which I stamped on card that I'd smudged with inks. I then cut around the windows and around the outside of the image. On a blank atc, I used some pale green backing paper that also had an image of a victorian chair, on that I added this lovely image of a young victorian lady in her underwear.Finally I mounted the window,trimming the top in line with the stamped image.

Embellished Inchie

Good Morning from a dark and dingy Devon today....it looks like the heavens are about to open at any minute. We aren't having much of a summer are we, although I don't like the weather too hot. I much rather prefer the Autumn and Winter....I was a February baby,so I sometimes wonder if that's why I prefer the cooler months.
On to my Inchie, the challenge was to use an embellishment....well I decided to use a wooden leaf that I've had in my stash for at least 4yrs,lol. For the background I used distress inks....a recent gift from my dad ( a set of 36 inks in a wooden unit) It looks kind of rustic which is what I was hoping to achieve.
For my next project I need to make an Oriental Twinchie, will post here as soon as it's done.

Summer Holiday

I've woken up to a beautiful day...dry and sunny and not too hot. Got a busy day today, but hope to be done by mid afternoon....
I've found time to post this Skinny, the theme is Summer Holiday. The image of the boys is one I have used before, it's been on my computor for absolutely ages,so I thought it was about time I used it again. It's been so long that I've forgotten where I got it from, all I can remember is that it was free to use.
I love the expressions on the boys faces, typical boys of that era.....nowadays the young boys wear baseball caps,lol.

Well, it's been a really Hot sunday here today, every one of my windows has been wide open. I've been home all day, had intended making a new Skinny for my group challenge over at Craftymess, but while I was sorting through umpteen images in my boxes, I ended up sorting them in to catergories.....so I've not actually made anything!
As a member of the design team over at the Atc Challenge Blog ( there's a link in my side bar ) I made this atc. The theme, a new one started today, is an Houshold Item or Anything Goes. You can see what I went for. I adore this stamp by Darkroom Door, their stamps come in tins too,so easy to store. The sentiment I've used is also part of the set.

A Trio of Atcs

I thought I would quickly pop in and post these 3 atcs I've made, again these are for a swap. The theme is Motor/Engine. I got to use some of my new stamps from Artistic Outpost (the train atc),felt like a kid with a new toy! Yet again my Casablanca stamps (from Oxford Impressions) came in useful again, I actually won these a few years ago in a blog challenge, the lady who's blog it was lives in Canada and she actually sent me a whole bunch of stuff. For the final atc I used images from the Crafty Individuals image books,they are really super images,so versatile.

A Floral Inchie

I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday......I'm juggling between crafting and cooking a roast dinner. My grandson is staying with me at the moment, so I thought I would treat us both to a roast dinner. Of course I shall leave all the washing up for him to do,lol
Here is an Inchie I made for a challenge, the theme was flowers, this image is actually part of a bigger stamp. I heated embossed the image and painted it with LuminArt paints. I then sponged around the edges of the inchie with orange ink. I am pleased with the way it turned out, those paints are so shimmery too.
Right,well I'm off to check the dinner, catch up with you all again soon. xx :D

I've just noticed that I've not posted anything since saturday, so I thought I would show you this Skinny I made. I'm running a "Skinny " group over at http://craftymess.ning.com/ These are fun to make and they measure 3"x5". Each month I set a theme, this month's being a "quote or sentiment" I am giving a small crafting gift for the best Skinny at the end of the month.
For this Skinny I've actually used a copied photograph of myself when I was about 2- 3yrs old, I'm smelling a daisy,lol.

Pretty Twinchie

This is my Twinchie (2"x2" square) that I made for the Twinchie challenge over at http://craftymess.ning.com/
I've used a section of the Oasis stamp from Creative Stamping,( this is actually an old stamp of mine )... I then heat embossed it, then painted it using my LuminArt shimmery paints ( I've had these a long time too,lol ) Using the flash on my camera, it has slightly picked up some of the shimmer from the paints. Such a small piece to work on, but I did enjoy it.
I've got a few projects to start work on, so hopefully I shall get around to posting them here this week.

Beach Themed Atcs

Well that's another Bank Holiday over and done with.....I didn't do much, just pottered and had a play with some craft stuff, sorted out a pile of "bits" on my craft bench, you know, the off cuts,the stamped images that weren't quite right, bits of ribbon,card etc.....we've all got a pile like it haven't we,lol.

These are Beach Themed atcs that I made for a swap, the mouse atc and the backing on the body board atc is made using some freebie papers from a craft magazine about 2 years ago.....I'm such a hoarder!

An Altered Beer Mat

Seem ages since I last posted, nothing new there then,lol....
Here's an altered Beer Mat......I followed the sketch on http://craftymess.ning.com/, a forum that I am on. There are several swaps going on there, something for everybody really. I liked the look of this sketch and I knew I had some new stamps that would fit the bill nicely. The stamps are fabulous, photo type ones my sister (adopted/best friend) bought me for my birthday earlier this year from Paperbag Studios, a full A4 sheet of unmounted stamps, so plenty to chose from.
I had intended using shades of blue,but the images didn't look so nice,so ended up going "pink"....pink and me don't usually work out too well, but I'm pleased this time it did!

Vintage Tag

Time just seems to be flying by for me at the moment...even with the lighter evenings, the day still seems too short.
Here's a Tag I made for a private swap....my choice of theme this month, which is "Children" I've got some new stamps that I thought would be perfect for the tag, but I ended up doing something completely different once I got started.....how many times has that happened to you? lol
I have used mount board, I find it's a nice sturdy base to work on, also used a vintage stamp from a set from Artistic Outpost....love those Berets, reminded me of the ones I was forced to wear as a child.....I never did look good in a hat, not even now!

The 2nd Atc

Here,as promised is the 2nd atc. I had actually posted it yesterday,but blogger were doing maintainence, so it wasn't showing back up on my blog.
I stamped the image of the man separately, then cut it out and used sticky pad to raise it......I think I'm going to like Steampunk, maybe I should invest in some hardware,cogs,watch faces etc, to embellish the images further. I will now go rummaging in the charity shops for some old watches,lol.

Art Deco & Art Nouveau

The Inchie Challenge over at Craftymess this month is Art Deco.
Now I have to admit,this did have me stumped, as I think there is a very fine line between Art Deco and Art Nouveau.....so for me, Art Deco has straight lines ,Art Nouveau curly lines, so that is how I remember them.
The Inchies have added accentz beads to give it a little bit of texture,I love the lady in the 2nd inchie,so just had to use the image, again I used accentz beads on the flowers.
These pieces are suprisingly fun to do, a miracle for me,as I have quite large hands and sausage like fingers,lol.

Launched today,at midday on 1st May......I am very proud to say I am one of the design team, so it is very exciting for me ,as most of you who know me, I just love atcs. You will see my take on the theme when you visit the blog, along with the other atcs from the design team.

The first challenge also starts today, the challenge is "Anything Goes" and will run for 3weeks, all challenges there after will be on a fortnightly basis, until December when that challenge will be for a month.

Love Letters

This is an Atc I made for a group swap on Friends Reunited....the theme is "Letters" so I decided to go with love letters for this one. The romantic pair in the background are from a sheet of backing paper from my stash and the stamp is so old that I cannot remember where, or who, I got it from. I shaded the little envelopes in using my Whisper pens, again another item I've had for ages, it's a wonder the pens haven't dried out,lol.

Well, can you believe it's been almost 3 weeks since I last posted, lol, just shows how time flies. To kick start me again.....I joined an Inchie Challenge Group over at http://craftymess.ning.com/ this is my first attempt. The theme is Music....I used mount board for my inchie, smudged some inks on it.For the music image I used a small section of one of my Crafty Individuals stamp......I liked this section as it reads Spring Time, so I thought I would add a bright paper flower,finishing the whole thing off with a little metal embellishment.

Well here's a colour I don't use that often...Blue......For these atcs,which are for a swap over on Craftymess, I had to use blue as a main colour. I'll be honest and say I found the colour hard to work with. Anyway, these haven't turned out too bad and I also got to use one of my new stamps....the Seaside theme by Crafty Individuals. Just love that lady in her swimsuit and hat, she is actually full length but I've had to cut her down for this atc.

So Pretty in Lilac

Surprising what a bit of sunshine can do......brightens everything up (even the dust,lol ), it certainly makes me feel more motivated to create some work for my blog.
Still in my lilac mood.......I have decorated this little frame, from Crafty Individuals. Its made from board and I just had to have some......this one I swiped with gesso,once dry I then swiped with some Lilac VersaMagic multi surface chalk ink, it dries very quickly too. I then added the words and image, again from Crafty Individuals, the image is the perfect size for the frame aperture. Finally adding a trim of beads and a Butterfly from my own stash, actually the butterfly is an old brooch ( I removed the clasp ) that I picked up in a chartiy shop!

A Little Bit Cheeky

I love this little stamp.....a little bit cheeky,lol. Actually this Tag should be under the heading "Spring Flowers" as that is the theme for Aprils tag swap. In keeping with the theme, I have added some stamped crocus....as you can see I am in a lilac mood today.

I have another lilac item to post tomorrow......have to finish it tonight......Thank you for dropping by my blog today..........

Boyhood Atc

Well, I'm back.....this time with the second item that I made during the week. This is a one off Atc I made especially for my sister,we aren't actually related...but we did grow up together, then went our seperate ways as we got older and had our families. We did keep in touch with occasional letters and cards after I moved away from the area. When I moved back about 12 years we got to meeting up,we still have such a wonderful friendship, my sister is good for my soul and I love her dearly.....the amazing thing is, our mothers were the best of friends too!
Back to the Atc, I smudged some inks for the background, before stamping the boat image (Innotive Stamp Creations). I then stamped the boy with his fish (PaperArtsy Mini Stamp) on to some lightweight cream card, shading in his shirt and trousers with some Whisper pens.To finish,I shaped the boy slightly with the side edge of my scissors and mounted him on to the atc with a couple of foam pads.
My sister was thrilled with the atc when she received it yesterday, after a few days on display,she said she will add it to all the others I have sent her,which she keeps in a special little tin.

Numbers Tag

I know it's been such a long time since I last posted.....no news there then,lol......Anyway, I have got my gray matter in to gear this week and made this Tag. It's for a swap, the theme is "Numbers".....I got to use one of my favourite stamps which has been lying on my work bench for ages.

I'm not making any promises that I will be back on a regular basis, I feel kind of embarrassed as I've lost touch with so many of my followers, but I will try my best.

On Your Bike.........said in the nicest way of course.lol. This stamp is a recent purchase from Crafty Individuals.......one I just had to have,lol. You all know what I mean, we've all been there.
I've used this stamp to make 3 atcs for a swap, two of which I've posted here. The swap is very small, 4 people and we make 3 atcs each....this month I am the host and it was my turn to chose the theme.....the theme is Quotes/Verse. Luckily this stamp has a little quote but I had to re stamp it to use as a border, the stamp isn't quite wide enough to fill the atc widthways.

Casablanca in Monochrome

Another Atc.....I do love making these small pieces. This one is for the challenge over at http://lotstodocallenges.blogspot.com/ The theme is...... Monochrome.......I thought I would use blue and black, blue isn't a colour I use very much and after I made it, I was actually pleased with the end result. The image of the faces I stamped seperately so I could layer it up, so the atc isn't too flat. I have used my "Casablanca" stamps that I won a year or so ago, I think they are from Oxford Impressions.
Now, I'm on the lookout for another blog challenge, or two,to keep me busy for the rest of the week,lol.

I Love Paris

Well, how about this.....another posting this week! This time it's for a blog challenge over at http://jeanette-soartfulchallenges.blogspot.com/ The theme is "I love Paris".....there is an image to use or you can use it for inspiration. Well, I have some lovely "Paris" stamps,by "Elusive Images" it would have been a shame not to use them. I also used one of my "paperartsy" stamps but only the upper part of it.
I have another item to post tomorrow...another challenge, gosh.....I must go and have a lie down,lol

Well, I'm surprising myself here this week, as this is my second posting in less than a week (will it last I hear you say,lol)
This is my entry for the challenge over at http://tuesdaytaggers.blogspot.com/2010/09/diamonds-are-forever.html The theme is "Diamonds".....so I have made an Atc, using some lovely Paperartsy stamps. The background stamps has the required element for the challenge. I have layered the flowers and clock to give the atc a bit of a lift...I hope I've done enough for the challenge.

Falling in Love Again

The very beautiful Marlene Dietrich, with her famous "Falling in Love Again" song. This is the Tag I have made for a swap.....The theme, chosen by me is Music/Song. I had several ideas lined up, but this is what I finally made...alot different to what I had in my head. Just one of those times I went with the flow.

My next project is to make some Atcs.....the theme, it was my turn to choose....is to use a Quote/Verse within your design.

Butterflies

As usual I'm slack in posting my work. These 3 Atcs were made for a swap, the theme being "Butterflies". Well I know I have only included the one butterfly on each atc......my reason is that I'd bought some Paperartsy stamps in a sale......and I just had to use one of them......nice isn't it.lol.

I have a Tag that I need to photograph and hopefully get that posted over the next day or so....but don't hold your breath......knowing me it could be a week,lol Life can be so annoying at times, it gets in the way of my crafting!

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend.......I've got nothing planned, well I may help my daughter pack her house up.....many hands make light work as the saying goes.

Harvest Maiden

I had a job thinking of what I could use to make a Tag (for a swap) using the theme "Harvest" As usual my mind went a complete blank. I eventually came up with a few ideas, but none seemed to work when I put all the elements together. My sister lent me her little Wheat Sheaf stamp,( which I did use in the end) but I was still struggling with ideas. In desperation I spread all of my stamps on the floor and looked at every one. Imagine how chuffed I was when I came across my "Harvest Maiden" stamp, I'd forgotten all about that one, she was perfect for what I needed.
Hope you like my take on the Harvest Theme, love my sisters little wheat sheaf stamp, think it will be a while before she gets that one back,lol

Has everyone else had to reset their blog recently? I signed in yesterday to find my background etc had been removed....now I can't seem to alter the colours of the text as the old setup for that has gone. I've had to use a pale background so the text still shows up.

Two The Same

Crikey, it's almost 4 weeks since I was last here! Thought I'd posted these 2 Atc's, I actually made three, but two are the same colour. Again these are for a swap, the theme being "Men" famous or otherwise. A good excuse to get out my rarely used stamps. They seemed to fit the bill perfectly,a famous man indeed, with a little play on the words for the crafters.

One Tag

Time to catch up on my blog again....it's been ages since I last posted, I'm ashamed to say. I'm really finding it difficult to kick start my mojo,too much going on in my private life and it's affecting my crafting.
I am in a monthly Tag Swap and I thought I would post the 2 tags I've made for June and July. The June tag has a "Floral" theme and Julys has a "Seashore" theme,although I'm not sure that mine is very seashore-ish.
Tomorrow I shall be reorganising my craft room again, mainly to check out what stuff I've got. I know I had a good clear up a couple of months ago,but it's so easy to forget what goodies you have if you're not crafting regularly.I know I have some new papers that I bought last month, so it will be nice to find them,lol

Oh I forgot to mention that I used mountboard for the Tags,had to use a stanley knife to cut it,well worth the effort as they are nice and rigid.

Just popped on to post a couple more atcs. As you can see I'm still using my latest stamp and these are more or less the same as the ones I posted before. The only difference being the colours and images of the girls. A bit of fun really,lol.
